Series Overview

The work of a truly wholistic practitioner is to address the needs of patients at all levels. The majority of patients, aside from their physical symptoms, are often also imbalanced at the levels of mind and Spirit. Every acupuncture point has a name, translated from the ancient Chinese characters, which suggests the mental and Spiritual connotations of the point. This knowledge is essential to reach the mental and Spiritual needs of patients.

The series, consisting of in-depth explanations by Professor Neil R. Gumenick, will begin with how to resolve a Spirit level block, and will cover the names, meanings, and uses of selected Spirit points that can be conjoined with treatment of any element. These include points on the Ren (CV) and Du (GV) channels, upper Kidney chest and outer Urinary Bladder points on the back. Subsequent sessions will include essential Spirit points on all 5 Elements and 12 meriidans.

Session 2 will cover the Fire Element and points on Heart, Small Intestine, Pericardium, and SanJiao.

Session 3 will cover the Earth element and points on Stomach and Spleen.

Session 4 will cover the Metal element and points on Lung and large Intestine.

Session 5 will cover the Water Element and points on Urinary Bladder and Kidney.

Session 6 will cover the Wood element and points on Gall Bladder and Liver.

The Wood Element: Gall Bladder and Liver meridians

The session will cover the essential skill of rapport and how it leads us to a patient's real and deepest needs. It will cover the Wood Element in depth - Gall Bladder and Liver, including the diagnostics, Spirits, meanings, and uses of the points.

The work of a truly wholistic practitioner is to address the needs of patients at all levels.
