Course Overview

This course provides the basic foundations of five main systems of the Balance Method/System. The systems are rooted in the concept of healing the body by balancing meridians. Student will learn the history of the Balance Method/System, the basis of each of the Five Systems, and the logical processes for determining the meridians to acupuncture, including an easy-to-use format to outline the treatment plan. Learn how to apply the quick, efficient results effectively! Particular attention will be paid to musculo-skeletal conditions in this introductory level. Pre-requisite: A license to practice Acupuncture legally within your jurisdiction, with a minimum 250 hours of Acupuncture training.

Course Objectives

  • Understand the development of the six systems/strategies.
  • Be able to identify the name and numbers of the six systems/strategies and describe how each balances a meridian.
  • Learn how to apply a mirror and imaging concept to choose the acupuncture points on the body, and locate specific acupuncture points within the Balance Method/System.
  • Be able to follow the steps used in the Balance Method/System to diagnose and treat health conditions.
  • Be able to diagnose which meridians are sick and apply a treatment plan.

Introduction to the Balance System of Acupuncture, its origins and lineage.
15 min - 45 min
Lecture theory of System I: Ming.
45 min - 1.25 hrs
Holography – The Mirror and Imaging format. The 5 Step approach.
1.25 hrs - 1.5 hrs
System 1 protocol.
1.5 hrs - 2 hrs
Lecture of theory of System II: Bie-Jing and System II protocol.
2 hrs - 2.5 hrs
Lecture of theory of System III: Biao-Li and System III protocol.
2.5 hrs - 2.75 hrs
Discussion of cases of chronic pain disorders and the use of the Balance Systems.
2.75 hrs - 3 hrs
Review of Systems I to III.
3 hrs - 3.25 hrs
Lecture of theory of System IV: Opposite Clock and System IV protocol.
3.25 hrs - 3.5 hrs
Lecture of theory of System V: Neighbour Clock and VI: He. Systems I to V review.
3.5 hrs - 3.75 hrs
Discussion of cases of Musculoskeletal (MSK) Disorders and the 6 Systems.
