Course Objectives
- In this segment students will learn about the trajectories of the Gall Bladder and Liver Meridians, both on the human and dog body, be able to trace their pathways and identify some important acupoints.
- Students will then learn about the Ren and Du Mai vessels and Dai Mai and Chong Mai channels. They should be able to explain how the extra channels influence human and animal energy, along with treatment strategies for issues like arthritis.
- In a seminal work, Ashley Monteque wrote a book called Touching. The Chinese have used acupressure massage to balance the body for thousands of years. Learn how to use acupressure & embodied touch to balance the body, mind & spirit.
- The classic texts suggest that the Wood phase is powerful, creative and forceful. How is that energy manifested? Students should be able to access their own energy and that of an animals by accessing their eyes, emotions, ears, ligaments, & paws.
- Movement: Learning to move the joints to facilitate movement, especially with older people and dogs is a key to good health and longevity. The videos should help the student add joint and movement protocols to their practices.
Course Outline
0 hrs - 30 min
To learn Meridian pathways, particularly those associated with the Wood Element i.e. the Liver and Gall Bladder trajectories.
30 min - 1 hrs
Treatment strategies, including those applicable for trauma like back Shu points, Auricular therapy and "Hara" protocols.
1 hrs - 1.5 hrs
Acupressure, Embodied Touch, Auricular Therapy and Hara Diagnosis provide means for balancing, along with Dai and Chong Mai.
1.5 hrs - 1.75 hrs
Japanese self massage or "Do-In" a video: This is an interactive Zoom presentation to learn Hara massage, and meridians.
1.75 hrs - 2 hrs
Additional videos like "The Microcosmic Orbit" are intended to teach meditation, visualization and the Du and Ren pathways.
