Course Objectives
- Discuss Wumei Wan, Wenpi Tang, Fuzi Lizhong Tang, and Sini Tang, addressing historical context, structure, dosages, indications, typical applications and case examples.
- Of the Fuzi formulas discussed, explain the distinguishing features and hallmark symptoms enabling you to choose the most appropriate remedy for common presenting patterns.
- Describe how to craft modifications of the given Fuzi formulas and/or suggest formula combinations that will achieve a desired therapeutic effect for unique presenting patterns.
- Explore why Fuzi formulas are so powerful, and can often be misused, in clinical practice. Explain how to safety modify Fuzi formulas using other formulas.
Course Outline
0 hrs - 30 min
Heiner continues the exploration of Fuzi family of formulas. The focus is Wumei Wan, Wenpi Tang, Fuzi Lizhong Tang, and a review of Sini Tang, addressing historical context, structure, dosages, indications, typical applications and case examples.
30 min - 1 hrs
Heiner further explores Heiner explores the Fuzi family of formulas, and why Fuzi formulas are so powerful, and can be misused, in clinical practice.
1 hrs - 1.5 hrs
Heiner explains how to modify Fuzi formulas and/or combine formulas to achieve a desired effect for individual presenting patterns. He uses Sugar Pearls and Tiger Pearls as examples.
1.5 hrs - 2 hrs
Heiner continues to explore how to modify Fuzi formulas, particularly Wumei Wan, with single herbs, herb pairs, and other formulas to achieve a desired effect for individual presenting patterns. He uses Ocean Pearls and Serpent Pearls as examples.
2 hrs - 2.5 hrs
The final 30 minutes will be devoted to a question and answer period. Questions will be selected from those posted in the Zoom chat based on relevance for the whole group.
