Course Overview

Dr. Chris Metro has worked for well over ten years in the Hai Shan Clinic with Heiner Fruehauf, Ph.D. and knows better than any other practitioner what Heiner’s Gu Syndrome strategies look like when applied to the complications of Chronic Lyme Disease. In this course Dr. Metro reviews multiple cases to demonstrate how herbal formulas change over time to treat shifting symptoms. The viewer will learn how to weave together the strands of classic Gu Syndrome thinking alongside Wu Sheng’an's “descending the qi” focus on the lungs and Huo Shen Pai’s (Fire Spirit School of Herbal Medicine) focus on warming the yang. This brilliant dance of these schools of thought is the key to success with the herbal treatment of chronic Lyme disease.

The Treatment of Chronic Lyme Disease with Acupuncture and Non-Insertive Tools

Course Overview

Bob Quinn worked for a number of years with Heiner Fruehauf, Ph.D. in his Hai Shan Clinic, and in this time saw many chronic Lyme disease patients. Although he was already at that point in time a seasoned practitioner of Japanese Meridian Therapy, he soon learned that “normal” gentle acupuncture practices were in fact not gentle enough for most chronic Lyme patients. At that point in time he came into contact with some new teachers (such as Funamizu Takahiro and Iwashina Anryu) who could guide him into the world of non-insertive skills. In this important course he shares some of the key insights from his studies with these teachers.

Course Objectives

  • Participants will understand the need for gentle strategies due to the extremely inflamed nervous systems common to chronic Lyme patients.
  • Participants will observe how to treat effectively with the ancient tool of teishin (tizhen/dizhen).
