Course Outline

The first section, we will discuss guiding principles for eliciting and evaluating symptoms and signs. You will learn how to critically examine the role of observation in the SAAM acupuncture tradition.
30 min - 45 min
The second section, we will discuss strategies for navigating the tension between reliable pattern constellations and apophenia.
45 min - 1 hrs
The third section, you will also learn how to enhance your observation skill set and integrate these concepts into your clinical work.

Toby began studying Chinese medicine in 1997 with a Korean monk trained in the Saam tradition. In 2016, he completed a PhD in Classical Chinese Medicine under the guidance of Daoist priest Jeffery Yuen. His current focus is on sharing his clinical experience with the Saam tradition.
